Marialice B.F.X. Curran is the Founder & CEO of the Digital Citizenship Institute. The Institute provides a community-driven approach to educating and empowering digital citizens to solve problems in local, global and digital communities. The Digital Citizenship Institute turns negatives into positives and helps to transform participants into designers, creative thinkers, global collaborators, problem solvers and justice-oriented digital citizens.
She is also a mother who learns alongside her nine year old son, Curran. As a mother/son #digcit team, they co-present & speak around the world. Dr. Curran has also served as an associate professor, middle school principal, teacher and advocate for young adolescents. Known as a pioneer in digital citizenship, she developed & created the first 3-credit digital citizenship course in the country. She is a researcher, keynote speaker, TEDx Speaker, co-founder of #digcit chat on Twitter and the Digital Citizenship Summit and she is passionate about amplifying student voice & student leaders.

Curran is going to be a 4th grader this fall. He is the Founder & Chief Kid Officer of DigCitKids, digital citizenship for kids by kids. DigCitKids is launching a K-12 student ambassador program and will be host #digcit monthly challenges to amplify student voice. The August/September challenge is, how do you build community?
