Digital Citizenship Summit Nigeria (DigCitSummitNG) is part of the emerging global communities of Digital Citizenship Summit organizations that is coordinated by the Digital Citizenship Institute. DigCitSummitNG is committed to promoting social good through the appropriate, responsible use of social media and technology. We are a diverse group of connected digital enthusiasts who think differently and believe in amplifying the positive and practical applications of learning in the digital age. We partner with authorities at local, state and federal levels, schools, parents and organizations to provide a community approach to digital citizenship.

VISION

Nigerian youths exploring the digital world safely, responsibly and smartly.

MISSION

Empower young Nigerians with the skills and knowledge to become positive and smart users of digital technologies.

OBJECTIVES

a) Raise awareness of Digital Citizenship across Nigeria so that the youths can have confident and positive engagement with digital technology

b) Achieve pervasive digital access in the classrooms as well as equitable access to digital devices for every learner.

c) Ensure that digital citizenship become a mandatory feature of elementary to secondary education across the Nigerian school system.

Digital Citizenship is a concept that helps teachers, technology leaders, and parents to understand what students, children, and technology users should know to use technology responsibly. It is more or less a preventive measure that helps tip the scales towards positive online interactions and brings about appropriate, responsible behavior with technology.
